  • I was the focal point for our external stakeholders including the Ministry of Health, the TB Program, Women Cancer Programs and others.

  • Company Overview: This company manufactured blocks, bricks, kerbs, prefabricated walling, pavers and other concrete related products, while the plant side, supplied river and pit sand, hired out earth moving equipment i.e. graders, JCB's tipper truck etc.
  • The opportunity of automating operations presented itself and we turned this company from manual operations to computerized operations when most businesses were still running manual.
  • Introduced the manufacturing of interlocking pavers and sourced the norse and mould thereof.
  • I was responsible for the marketing of products nationally and saw the company getting a bigger marker share and niche' in the industry.
  • I was responsible for the workforce of 120.

  • As a Communication Executive, I dealt with Government departments and the private Sector where my main job function was to coordinate and manage Regional communication for the through the Durban Office.
  • This included amongst other responsibilities, the coordination of the President's visits to Durban, from speeches to press conferences/releases and venues if required under the guidance of my supervisor.
  • I was seconded for a period of 3 months to the medical Research Council (MRC) to provide secretariat for the launching of a would be coordinating body for the management of HIV/AIDS funds (300 Million rand) that would be released by the government to the MRC.
  • The Regional Aids Planning Sub-Group (RAPS) now known as the National Aids Committee of South Africa (NACOSA).
  • I won the most coveted trophy within the SA communication service, of the communicator of the month: April '93, September '93 and November 1993.
  • I left SACS to join my husband in Botswana when I got married in December 1993.
