I am a passionate Scientist (12 years) with specialization in plants documentations (genetics, taxonomy, ethnobotany, agronomy & horticulture; pharmacology & phytochemistry). Minimum 10 years’ experience of teaching at a Tertiary Institution with demonstrated potential in communicating knowledge and facilitating teaching and learning in a lecture, online, seminar, tutorial and/or practical’s, coupled with knowledge of online assessment practices. Ability to undertake administrative responsibilities at departmental level. Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary scientific team, with a strong academic research background. Capability to train; Record of postgraduate 8 student supervision. 25 Peer-reviewed scientific publications and have the ability and proficiency to obtain external research funding. Research support and initiate relevant research projects, trials, presentations, and training. My research focuses on the taxonomy of southern Africa’s biodiversity and dissemination of information on plant-people relationships. Excellent practical knowledge of genetic and molecular biology techniques, including microbiology and virology. Expert knowledge and use of molecular biology equipment such as next generation sequencers, digital and quantitative PCR instruments. Expertise in various genetic assays including nucleic acid isolations, genotyping, microbiome sequencing, DNA sequencing, multiplex analysis, absolute quantification, relative quantification, and gene expression.)
