Health Care Assistant
Working as a care giver and delivering the highest level of personal care in respect of the physical, mental, and personal hygiene by:
- Assisting by providing high-quality, dedicated care to patients with disabilities and, consistently achieving individual care plan objectives.
- Assisting the patient in everyday activities, with hygiene needs at the bedside or in the bathroom with the use of commodes, bedpans, urinal, and toilets, including washing, dressing, and providing constant safety and effective care.
- Assisting by safely escorting patients during medical appointments or hospital visits, grocery shopping and errands.
- Following all patient healthcare instructions and guidance plans, they are implemented without deviation.
- Helping to prepare healthy meals and deliver feeding support to meet patient dietary needs.
- Organising activities to build patient confidence through physical exercise, promoting positive lifestyle changes, and improved wellbeing.
- Participating in moving or lifting patient as directed and according to correct procedures to prevent injury to all parties involved.
- Vigilantly monitored changes in physical and mental health, reporting deterioration to senior carers for urgent attention.
- Ensured safe, secure living conditions for service users, reducing risk and enhancing quality of life.
- Completed care documentation and monitored patient progress to achieve up-to-date records.
- Monitored client health conditions and reported immediate issues to the manager to support clinical staff in completing health assessments.
