• Supervision and Management: As a Sergeant and Supervisor, I lead and manage a team of officers in daily patrols, roadblocks, and information-driven operations. I ensure all
  Pro-Active Policing activities are executed efficiently, maintaining high standards of visibility and effectiveness. I regularly visit subordinates during shifts to ensure professional execution of duties, review their performance, and sign off on attendance registers and other
  essential documentation.
  
• Administrative Oversight: I manage all administrative functions related to Pro-Active Policing daily. This includes ensuring that reports, records, and other documentation are accurately maintained and submitted in a timely manner. My role involves coordinating diverse activities and addressing ad-hoc duties as required by my supervisors, ensuring seamless operations within the department.
  
• Law Enforcement Leadership: I oversee the enforcement of the National Road Traffic Act, Act 93/1996, and all Municipal By-Laws. My responsibilities include supervising officers in
  identifying offenses, conducting stops, issuing infringement notices (Sect 341 and 56), and making arrests when necessary. I ensure proper handling of unauthorized items confiscated
  from informal traders, ensuring full compliance with applicable legislation.
  
• Crime Prevention Management: I lead crime prevention efforts by directing high-visibility patrols and law enforcement actions. My team and I work together to identify potential crime indicators and mitigate risks through proactive measures, contributing to a safer Tshwane Metropolitan area.
  
• Incident and Accident Response Coordination: I supervise and coordinate responses to motor accidents and other public road incidents. My duties include ensuring that scenes are
  secured, traffic is managed, and all necessary reports are completed accurately. In cases of severe or fatal injuries, I coordinate with SAPS and manage the scene until their arrival,
  providing traffic control and ensuring evidence preservation.
  
• Traffic Control and Escort Duties: I manage traffic control operations, especially during peak hours, school events, and public processions. My role involves ensuring that my team
  provides safe and effective escort services for funerals, VIPs, and political marches, minimizing disruptions and ensuring the safety of all involved.
  
• Community Complaint Resolution: As a supervisor, I handle and oversee the resolution of community complaints related to noise, animals, and traffic. I guide my team in conducting
  thorough on-site evaluations, engaging with complainants and involved parties, and determining appropriate interventions. I ensure that all feedback is documented and communicated effectively to supervisors.
  
• Information Management Section: I manage an information management section, ensuring the accurate collection, analysis, and dissemination of data critical to our operations. I oversee the processing of reports and intelligence that inform our law enforcement strategies and decision-making processes.
  
• Bike Unit Management: I am also responsible for supervising and managing the bike unit, which plays a crucial role in maintaining law enforcement presence in areas that are less
  accessible by vehicles. I coordinate patrol routes, ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, and provide training to unit members to enhance their operational
  efficiency.
  
• Primary Functions: I perform law enforcement actions according to the departmental scorecard, enforcing the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996), by-laws, patrols,roadblocks, and information-driven operations. I also execute crime prevention actions through visible policing, supervise road policing, crime prevention, and municipal by-law actions across all areas of Tshwane. Additionally, I attend and secure accident scenes, respond to incidents on public roads, supervise and assist with escort duties, and execute all
  duties professionally and efficiently according to procedures and policies.

• Accident Response and Management: I attended motor accident scenes on a daily basis, securing the area with traffic cones and managing traffic flow to prevent further incidents. I
  provided first response medical evaluations, called for ambulance services when required, and completed detailed accident reports. In cases of fatal or severe injuries, I coordinated with SAPS to ensure the scene was handled appropriately.
  
• Incident and Crime Scene Management: I responded rapidly to various incidents on public roads, including crime scenes. I secured and cordoned off areas to protect evidence,conducted arrests when offenders were present, and provided crucial support to SAPS by managing crowd and traffic control.
  
• Traffic Control and Escort Duties: I managed traffic congestion during peak hours, school events, and other public road activities. I also provided safe escort services for funerals,
  VIPs, and political marches, ensuring that processions were conducted safely and without disruptions.
  
• Complaint Handling: I responded to community complaints related to noise, animals, and traffic. I conducted on-site evaluations, engaged with complainants and involved parties, and determined appropriate interventions, which ranged from issuing warnings to fines or making arrests. I also provided thorough written feedback to my supervisors.

Training to obtain a Metro police Diploma

• Military service as part of a peacekeeping force in Basra, Iraq and Pristina, Kosovo.
  
• Served as a member of a search team, trained the Iraq police.
