Daniel Phillips

Acted as a student consultant for the nationally-renowned Stellenbosch University Law Clinic, as part of the Practical Legal Training 471 elective module.

Gained valuable experience in consulting with and researching the matters of vulnerable clients (especially divorces, protection orders and the drafting of wills).

Participated in a term-long mock trial, with great exposure to Magistrates’ Courts procedure and the drafting of pleadings and notices.

Gained useful insight into the day-to-day life of a candidate attorney at a medium-sized law firm, especially with regards to the importance of effectively dealing with government bureaucracy in deceased estates, trusts and municipal matters.
