• I am currently a Data Scientist in FNB Credit Card's business solutions team for Spend, Client Value Management and Digital Wallets. My responsibilities include the following:
• Extract data for data analysis using SAS. Data is subsequently cleaned and manipulated for proper handling
• Automate repetitive tasks using SAS to save time during the analytical process
• Assist with prediction of spend and interchange across all retail transaction products as part of the annual budgeting process using regression models
• Predict spend, transaction volumes and customers registrations across all digital wallet types as part of the creation of an annual digital wallet budget
• Track actual spend and interchange relative to forecasted spend and interchange. Perform readjustments on targets based on actual performance.
• Perform data analysis and subsequently create clear, concise views that provide insights into customer spending patterns
• Create presentations in PowerPoint that summarise analysis results and present findings to members of the Executive Committee on a monthly basis
• Perform investigations on data anomalies identified and report on findings
• Perform data analysis that can be used to target customers with spend campaigns
• Assess feasibility of campaigns by estimating expected take-up rate and expected return.
• Perform post-campaign analysis and tracking of customers relative to a control group.
• Perform impact-/sensitivity analysis based on proposed strategic changes
• Create and send out monthly/weekly reports in line with stakeholder requirements
• Ad hoc requests

• I was a part of the FirstRand Rotational Graduate Programme. My second rotation was within FNB's Secured Lending Cluster, Risk Appetite. During my time in the rotation, my responsibilities included the following:
• Acquire foundational knowledge of risk appetite policies and procedures through rigorous study of internal documentation resources
• Recoding of automated processes to improve the efficiency and running time
• Assisted in the preparation of comprehensive risk appetite reports for management review
• Identify and monitor out-of-policy loans. Report on findings on a daily basis
• Assisted senior team members with the creation of a credit index tool for use in IFRS9 models
• Perform data extraction and analysis for ad hoc requests

• Perform data extraction and analysis for ad hoc requests relating to customer spending patterns
• Identification of customer attributes that influence the likelihood of customer attrition. Assist with the development of attrition reduction strategies based on trends and patterns identified from customer information. Identify customer target bases and control groups
• Send out monthly spend reports and present results at various forums
