In my current position as a Data Scientist II in FNB Credit Card's Customer Value Management (CVM) team, I take ownership of Virtual Card as a topic and my responsibilities include the following:
Predict virtual card spend across all retail transaction products as part of the annual budgeting process using regression models.
Track actual virtual card spend relative to predicted virtual card spend. Perform readjustments on targets based on actual performance.
Redesign existing reports to be interactive, to better provide real-time business intelligence to stakeholders and to provide insights on current performance relative to set targets and KPIs.
Create and send out monthly reports in line with stakeholder requirements.
Extract data for data analysis and automate repetitive data extracts for time saving and easy input into existing reports.
Analyse large datasets to identify trends and patterns in customer behaviors, particularly in relation to virtual card vs. physical card preferences and usage.
Create presentations in PowerPoint that summarise analyses results and present findings.
Create features and triggers that are aimed at identifying customers to be targeted with shells prompting customers to change behaviour. Shells are used as a compliment to existing virtual card and digital wallet campaigns.
Auto-issue virtual cards to retail and commercial customers twice a week after applying qualifying criteria as determined by business rules.

Extract data for data analysis using SAS. Data is subsequently cleaned and manipulated for proper handling
Automate repetitive tasks using SAS to save time during the analytical process
Assist with prediction of spend and interchange across all retail transaction products as part of the annual budgeting process using regression models
Predict spend, transaction volumes and customers registrations across all digital wallet types as part of the creation of an annual digital wallet budget
Track actual spend and interchange relative to forecasted spend and interchange. Perform readjustments on targets based on actual performance.
Perform data analysis and subsequently create clear, concise views that provide insights into customer spending patterns
Create presentations in PowerPoint that summarise analysis results and present findings to members of the Executive Committee on a monthly basis
Perform investigations on data anomalies identified and report on findings
Perform data analysis that can be used to target customers with spend campaigns
Assess feasibility of campaigns by estimating expected take-up rate and expected return.
