  • Was responsible in the day-to-day care of patients from conception to delivery, managing various problems and presenting complaints in pregnancy and emergencies. Was also the senior and able to make decisions together with the consultant with regards to high-risk patients, I also rotated through Intensive care unit, exposing me to critical care in Obstetrics and Gynecology patients.

  • Improved patient satisfaction by delivering compassionate care and addressing individual needs of patients and families.
  • The Fetal maternal block exposed me to the high level of ultrasound, and I prepared patients for different procedures, including amniocentesis or fetal heart rate monitoring to evaluate maternal-fetal well-being accurately, be it in labor ward or in different wards.
  • In gynecology, we also helped women and managed minor cases from bleeding in early pregnancy to ectopic and heterotrophic pregnancies, with the advent of the fertility center in Charlotte Maxeke, it was a relief and a great exposure for us instead of referring our patients all the way to Steve Biko center in Pretoria.
