I have been in the Gender and Development Sector since 1998 and served as an Associate of one of the first gender training organisations in South Africa (GETNET) where we were at the forefront of developing gender tools of analysis, frameworks and evaluation mechanisms to determine the impact of development initiatives on improving the quality of life and status of all women. Specialised intervention areas included Gender and Local Government, Gender Mainstreaming and Gender Budgeting.
I have gained experience in the philanthropic and grant-making sector, specialising in feminist funds and mobilising resources for grassroots organisations, and served as Grants Coordinator for the first Women's Fund in South Africa, the WHEAT Trust.
I am a trained qualitative researcher and employ feminist research principles to contribute to knowledge formulation and dissemination about the lived experiences of women who work on commercial farms in South Africa.
I also assist organisations with change processes such as Strategy Development, Programme Planning, Monitoring and Impact Assessments.
