Oversee the Tyre Department and manage and maintain Systems - Fleet Management Tracing units, Cameras on each bus and Diesel software.

  • Effectively administer and manage the tyre budget according to minimum and maximum stock levels.
  • Oversee the maintenance of tyres- ensure that inspections are done and recorded and that all defects are reported.
  • Ensure that new tyres are ordered according to minimum and maximum stock levels.
  • Recordkeeping - ensure that all tyre movements are recorded and that each tyres has a branding number for identification.
  • Ensure that tyres are replaced according to tread depth specifications.
  • Bi-weekly tyre scrapping with tyre company representatives, ensure that tyre claims are processed and paid by the representatives.
  • Approve the retread of tyres and ensure the issuing and receiving of retread tyres from the factory according to specifications.
  • Stock Control - ensure that new stock is labelled and correctly captured on the database. Comply with monthly stock taking specifications.
  • Depot and after hour stock availability - ensure that there is adequate stock at all the depots and workshop at all times for breakdowns.
  • Collecting information and accurate and timeous compiling of the following reports:
  • Monthly Tyre Report
  • Tyre Budget Costing Report
  • Test Tyre Report
  • Hand Survey Report
  • Continuous testing of different tyre brands and monthly reporting and suggestions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all relevant policies, procedures, processes and work flow as well as the execution thereof.
  • Execution of all activities to be within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
  • Talent Management - Identify talented employees and manage retention of skills, ensure that adequate successors are identified and developed.

  • Oversee the Shunter Drivers at the workshop to ensure that they move the buses to where they are needed and to ensure that all buses reporting to the workshop are refueled.

  • Ensure that the weekly and monthly Diesel Report is compiled and that the Diesel Software is working. Balancing the daily diesel dips at each depot.
  • Overseeing the daily duties of the Systems Technician. His duties include repairs on the Webfleet units, Drivecam units, and diesel pumps.
  • Compiling a weekly Technical Report for the Management meeting. The following information is included in this report: Diesel consumption, Workshop productivity, Breakdown summary, Services done, and attendance statistics.
  • Monthly audits on the Tyre Department and compiling the monthly Test Tyre Report.
