· Managing Operation
- Achieve Flock Production and Eggs per Hen Housed according to Breed Standard.
- Ensure 95% First grade eggs after grading.
- Feed intakes in line with Breed Standard.
- Flock mortality targeted below 6% daily monitoring and reporting on post mortems.
- Manage and Monitor water intakes daily
- Maintain lighting program according to guidelines.
- Manage and Maintain all Production Assets and Equipment to ensure that they function reliably and are kept in good order.
- Vaccinate flocks according to Vet Program or as instructed by Management.
- Medicate flocks according to Vet instruction or as instructed by Management.
- Determine that Post-mortems are done in all instances where mortalities exceed the agreed limits.
- Conduct and report on weekly weight checks on all flocks.
- Weigh POLs on arrival and again after 1 week and report results to POL supplier and Management.
- Monitor flock health by taking of Blood samples and Swabs to be sent to designate Labs for testing.
· Managing Stock
- Control Layer, Egg, Feed, Vaccine, Medication and Chemical stocks by way of routine stock counts, daily, weekly and monthly as required.
- Investigate and report on any stock variances.
- Maintain site Security through access control, fence and electric fence checks, alarm response and any other monitoring as deemed necessary.
· Managing Maintenance
- All necessary spares are ordered and kept.
- Any electrical or mechanical problems that cannot be repaired by your house attendants are to be documented and reported to the relevant persons. If this does not happen quick enough please report to your senior person ASAP.
- Make sure that lights are working and that lights are hanging at the correct height and brightness
- Ensure that Pop Holes are opened at the correct times and closed at the correct times.
- Shaded areas need to be well maintained.
· Managing Administration of Information
- All records are supervised and accurately kept up to date.
- To check all cleaning check lists on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all documentation is being completed by relevant persons. (i.e. feed delivery inspection sheets, Bulk Inspection Sheets, etc.)
- End of the month stock take figures are done theoretically and compared physically.
- Ensure accurate routine capturing of all Production data into the Avihance System.
- Submit weekly KPI and Production Report to Management commenting on results off standard.
- Submit stock reports to Accounts timeously.
- Maintain Records of mortalities and report to Management any excesses on the agreed house limits.
- Maintain expenses within budget and Report on reasons where not within budget.
- Ensuring that all aspects of Bio Security is adhered to.
- Make sure your site is secured.
- Ensure that all visitors sign and adhere to Health Declaration – All Visitors Health Declarations must be kept on file in date order.
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations in all operations according to Acts and Group Policy
- Implement and Maintain Biosecurity measures to reduce disease risks to Layers.
- Manage and Maintain the Housekeeping standards within and around all Production areas.
- Implement and Manage Pest control measures to reduce and eliminate pests.
- Check and sign off all House Cleaning and Preparations before placing of POLs.
- Develop and Maintain constructive relations with the work force under your management.
- Manage and Monitor Work Schedules, Employee Attendance, Hours Worked, Overtime and the Leave Program
- Maintain discipline and apply the Group's Disciplinary Procedure fairly and consistently.
- Hold and report on monthly meetings with Representative Committees.
