• My department focuses on workplace design, which primarily entails short term projects and turnkey projects that enhance office environments.
• Generic responsibilities focus on annual budget preparations based on overall strategic objectives.
• My responsibility is to produce exception reports on budget against actuals and investigate all variances and propose remedial action necessary to rectify abnormal variances on budget line items.
• Working closely with the team to get first-hand information allows the benefit of being proactive in mitigating any operational shortfalls and risks. In the past financial year , we reduced repair work done by contractors , reduced credit notes and improved communication to customers which improved not only the quality of our work , but improved client satisfaction that has given us repeat business. This also highlighted the importance of vetting our suppliers and exploring our supplier market to ensure we provide qualitative work on time. I also identified where there could be delays in implementation of projects and proactively engaged the team on finding ways to garner more work from other projects to mitigate the impact for the reporting period
• Establishing and maintaining acceptable internal controls for the accounting functions is critical for the role to ensure good governance. This includes operational and financial accounting practice and project-specific needs.
• Managing supplier account payments and the supplier forecast process. This entails managing the timely processing of supplier invoices and matching quotations and purchase orders.
• Being customer-centric is critical for my role as clients' needs to have oversight of financials of their projects is important for them to evaluate the project status and financial health.
• Cash flow is key in running projects and it's my responsibility to ensure our debtors are at healthy levels. I sign off debtors invoicing and ensure all processes are in place including client sign off for work completion.
• I regularly do site inspections to ensure that's site performance and reporting figures are in alignment.
• I am responsible for monthly reports including the income statement and the balance sheet for review. This entails processing of all accruals, reviewing each project's stage of completion and doing appropriate journals for revenue allocation.
• Present the monthly Business Review of the department's performance to the Executive committee and attend to any comments in meetings.

• Assist the team with collation of financial information for clients and for internal reporting requirements.

• My main responsibility is to create tactical plans which are aligned with the overall business strategy to achieve maximal financial success and sustainable financial health of the organization.
• My role involves managing finance and operational requirements to support the company's objectives.
• I ensure that customer and supplier pricing structures are competitive, fair and profitable. I engage with various transporters and manufacturers to periodically review rates and assist with determining prices to negotiate and leverage our company's financial position.

• As an international company, the company based its financial operations in South Africa
• My role as the Senior Financial Controller was to report on the performance and financial reporting to the directors of the company for the different entities within the group
• My position was to ensure cooperation in operations in terms of introducing standardized pricing, products, and reports to synchronize and offer efficiency in the way products are offered to the markets and how results were interpreted to the end user, the executive committee
• In managing this, the directors would get a clear comparable analysis of the performance of each company within the group which enabled for better strategic planning and sales revenue drive
• My role involved preparation of quarter-end and year-end financial reports for each of the companies, monitoring internal controls and overseeing the junior bookkeepers for all the group companies
• In South Africa, my role also involved the preparation of BBBEE documents for audit submission
• Being in the same office as the main sales team for the group, I was able to offer top management insight to challenges and opportunities which I experienced with the team as they arose whether in terms of queries raised by staff relating to pricing, operations and human resource queries which assisted in facilitating timely and real-time resolutions that improved our company's operational outputs.
