Management
Manage all tech training projects, such as new model launches.
Manage relationships with preferred suppliers.

Recruitment of Technical Trainers.
Monitoring training man-days target for the 10 Technical Trainers.
Ensure stability and flexibility within a capable Trainer pool to train across portfolios.
Actively manage training staff retention.
Ensure job descriptions for next-level positions are clearly defined, job-specific Key Performance Indicators are defined and aligned to individual job holders, and a performance management process is implemented.
Manage failure rates in accordance with target.
Performance management of the technical trainers, including conducting performance appraisals and observation sessions as required to provide feedback on development areas.
Lead weekly team meetings (as required).
Ensure utilization of training information, special tools, and materials produced by the Academy.
Ensure a high level of discipline is always maintained.

Conduct the Needs Analysis annually.
Work with the Learning and Development Manager, Support Services Lead, and the training team regarding scheduling and planning to formulate the annual training schedule and plans for the Volkswagen Group South Africa Dealer Network to ensure the achievement of compliance KPIs and targets, including allocation of resources (Trainers, venues, catering, learning aids, and budgets).
Design all training as per requirements from Brands.
Oversee customization of content by brand, where required.
Determine delivery mechanisms, as well as ILT, VCT, and/or WBT requirements.
Delivery
Implement the OEM's Training strategy to facilitate a consistent approach to learning and development and ensure ongoing improvement in the quality of training provision.
In conjunction with the Services Support Lead and Team, ensure attendance for target audiences, as defined by Brands, per new model introductions.
Manage delivery of new product launches and product knowledge training, as per defined learning path and timelines.
Provide training for outlying areas where the need arises.
Manage the delivery of ad hoc training projects and ensure that such projects are delivered to meet the quality expectations of the client and Brand, in a timely manner.
Deliver programs within the approved budgets.
Reporting
Monitor progress of dealer activities against agreed targets and input to the generation of regular reports, detailing key metrics and achievements, and highlighting areas for dealer personnel development.
Maintain the OEM Training standards and support the Academy Training Centre audits as required. This includes general housekeeping and day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of all training vehicles and equipment.
Evaluation
Manage course evaluations according to Kirkpatrick levels 1-5, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Manage examination/assessment processes and resources according to VWSA and VWAG standards.
