Projects

YES Youth Project, The YES Youth Project is a South African government initiative aimed at reducing youth unemployment. This project was sponsored by Toyota South Africa. TSA provided all monthly stipends and necessary equipment for all youth involved. The project provided work experience and skills development opportunities to young people, enhancing their employability. We placed 697 youth across all 9 provinces in South Africa and also travelled to all provinces to provide training and any aid needed. As the project manager for the YES Project 697 Youth Placement Project, my responsibilities included: The goal was to empower young individuals with skills, experience and a network to succeed in their career. This was a successful project from inception to completion. Cultural Exchange Program for University Students, As the Hospitality Program Manager, I was responsible for both the Inbound and Outbound Programs. Hosting University Students annually from Boston was part of a great initiative that was introduced at Ubuntu Institute. We had the opportunity to place hospitality candidates in the USA for J-1 Visa Program for 12-18 months and therefore decided to curate this rewarding and enriching experience for our Inbound Program to host students who were interested in the cultural experience in South Africa and eSwatini. eSwatini was included as our additional destination because I had the opportunity of working closely with the Chairman, CEO and COO of Ubuntu Institute who are part of the Royal Family in eSwatini. This program was a success and these are some of the services we offered: 1. Traditional Meals and Music 2. Visits to historical sites and museums 3. Interaction with local communities and leaders 4. Volunteering We had the opportunity to create a unique and enriching cultural experience for university students from the USA both in South Africa and eSwatini. I successfully managed this program with the COO for the duration of my time at Ubuntu Institute.
