  • I mainly worked in the Outpatient department specialising in Family Medicine having to manage a variety of acute and chronic patients requiring advanced care at the district hospital
  • I managed patients either by admission, adjusting treatment or referring to secondary or tertiary level hospitals accordingly
  • The PI (INR) clinic was also run by OPD under the stewardship of a specialist Haematologist who previously worked at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital
  • Once a week, I also assisted with managing HIV patients (adult and paediatric) in the Lerato Outpatient HIV Clinic

  • I am passionate about teaching medical concepts to Wits medical students as well as other colleagues . I enjoy contributing towards professional learning in the form of academic meetings whereby I am expected to give informal lecturing on various medical topics. These meetings are held on a Wednesday morning in our family medicine unit at BGH.
  • I was employed by the Wits Office of Student Success to tutor medical students enrolled in the GEMP programme on various subjects including anatomy and physiology during my undergraduate studies.
  • I enjoy maintaining a healthy lifestyle by participating in physical activities including Pilates, Yoga and strength training at the gymnasium

Research experience

During my undergraduate studies I participated in a research paper titled "A retrospective analysis of the aetiologies and outcomes of patients diagnosed with acute kidney injury (AKI) at Helen Joseph Academic Hospital" supervised by Dr Malcolm Davies ( Specialist Nephrologist - CMJAH)
