  • (SARB) issued a Section 7 for RMB
  • SARB appointed their own auditors as RMB who failed to deliver accurately on their Reporting submissions to SARB
  • This resulted in a Section 7 against RMB which may have resulted in RMB losing their banking license
  • As a result of the appointment of Mrs
  • Notelovitz the SARB Auditors issued a clean audit report with no qualifications for both Dublin and SA 18 months later – under the 2-year period the Bank had to redeem themselves
  • Improved inefficiencies in the Regulatory Reporting department, which resulted in reducing the number of people from 9 to 3
  • This was achieved through the successful re-implementation of an automated system
  • The automated system had been bought 5 years before but was not used correctly
  • As a result of the re-implementation of the system – data for producing BOTH management accounts and Regulatory Reports was housed in one area
  • Realized benefits for both Management Accounts team and Regulatory Reporting team
  • As a result of my experience and reputation represented RMB at the BA Task committee
  • This was a joint committee of Banks, Banking Council, SAICA and SARB to create more efficiency in reporting for Banks
  • The BA Task Committee changed the way Banks across South Africa submitted information
  • It allowed banks to maintain one source of data for both SARB, and Internal Financial requirements thus protecting integrity of information and ensuring that banks eliminated inefficiencies in their processes.
