I served as Special Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Training, which allowed me to understand the Higher Education and government better holistically. One of my responsibilities was to facilitate engaging discussions with different stakeholders across the sector. I also took care of organizing and preparing these sessions to ensure they ran smoothly.
I got exposed to other various institutions globally in France, Germany, China, the UK, and other African countries to learn from these other universities and learn the best working practices to improve our education system. I was also exposed to the global community to understand various political systems and how democracy plays out in different countries. This gave me practical experience in politics and government, complementing my activism and involvement in community projects
I was a researcher in the National Parliament, I prepared brief documents, provided sound analyses of different reports, and produced research output for Members of Parliament. I continued to enhance my facilitating skills and made clear presentations to the members while working under pressure. Working in the National Parliament taught me to produce quality work while working under tight deadlines. Being a researcher in parliament gave me a unique experience of witnessing the practical aspect of politics, beyond mere theory. As a scholar, I have been studying practical methods to improve my technical understanding of democratic processes at play. I bring both practical and academic experience to the department.
