Job overview

  • Ensure that stock is collected at the post office, that each client's identity matches the serial number provided for them, Scheduling day to day installation, that installation equipment is properly installed and functional, that forms are filled out, and that clients sign when a proper installation has been completed.
  • Each house installation should be recorded and reported on. Clients should be taken through how to navigate through their new decoder and television and most of the clients were unable to control their own televisions, so I had to sit with them and show them step by step. This has taught me to be modest, patient, and to appreciate that not everyone is the same.
  • Finding the signal was difficult, and we will have to retrace the installation steps until we get it perfect. Following orders and not exhibiting displeasure or shouting at the squad on the field was one of our team's strengths.
  • We didn't know where we were going, so we had to use Google Maps to find out that street names change on Google but aren't updated on the street, or people still use old names, so we had to always ask people's surnames or contact them if they still use the same contact information. I learned that one cannot do everything by themselves and that it is necessary to ask questions when you do not understand or know something. Every day, we discover new problem-solving techniques.
