  • Worked independently as a physiotherapist at the District Hospital
  • Administrative work: Documentation of patient assessments, treatments, discharge summaries and home exercise programmes.
  • Reading and following clinical protocols and procedures.
  • Updating records and statistics of patients seen.
  • Managing and Monitoring of departmental resources
  • Management of patients In-patients and Out-patients.

  • Physiotherapy Health Promotion: preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative to stakeholders in hospital and the community
  • Monthly Home visits – community outreach
  • Weekly Clinic visits (Tuesdays & Thursdays) 6 Clinics in uMshwathi District
  • In-patients structures: 2 Surgical Wards, 4 Medical Wards, Paediatrics, Maternity
  • Out- patients: Orthopaedics (Fractures, Amputees, Hip/knee replacements, Spinal injuries)
  • NMS (Mechanical & non-mechanical lower back pain, TOS, Headaches, Whiplash injuries)
  • Neurology: HIV-related neuropathies, CVA, TBI
  • Cardiopulmonary Therapy: TB, Asthma, COPD, Pneumonia
  • Paediatrics: Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, Orthopaedic conditions + injuries.
  • OPD patients are seen once a month. Sessions were rehabilitative with great focus on patient education for continuation of care at home.
  • Inpatients would be seen at least 2-3 times weekly, depending on the number of admitted patients. Sessions included patient education for continuity of care during the absence therapist on clinic outreach days.

Assisted the field side sessions for the UFS Shimlas Rubgy Team supervised the physiotherapist, Edith Marias.

Field side - warm up, exercise drills etc.

Strapping rugby players prior to training sessions.

Weekend pre-match strapping.
