1. *Business Performance & Strategy*

- Own P&L for your branch/division. You’re responsible for revenue, costs, and profit.

- Set monthly/quarterly targets for sales, ops, and costs.

- Spot problems early - dropping sales, rising waste, high staff turnover - and fix them.

- Do basic market/competitor checks and adjust pricing, promos, stock.

2. *Operations Management*

- Make sure daily operations run smooth: stock levels, supplier deliveries, equipment working, store/factory is clean and compliant.

- Set and enforce SOPs so things are consistent when you’re not there.

- Control costs: labor, inventory shrinkage, utilities, wastage.

3. *People Leadership*

- Hire, train, roster, and manage HODs/supervisors and staff.

- Run performance reviews, handle discipline, and keep morale up.

- Build a team that can run without you micromanaging. High staff turnover is usually a GM problem.

- Handle escalated customer complaints.

4. *Customer & Sales*

- Own the customer experience. If NPS/scores/reviews are bad, it’s on you.

- Drive sales initiatives with the sales/marketing team.

- Maintain key client relationships for B2B roles.

5. *Compliance & Risk*

- Ensure health & safety, labor law,

- Manage risk: security, cash handling

- Report to head office/owners with accurate numbers and honest updates.

6. *Reporting & Communication*

- Weekly/monthly reports on sales, staff, stock, and action plans.

- Be the link between head office and the branch. You translate strategy into action on the ground.
