Anastasia Gerasis

Johannesburg

Summary

Anastasia Gerasis is a driven and ambitious karting pilot with a passion for motorsport and a clear trajectory towards professional racing. Beginning her karting career at 14, Anastasia entered the Tillotson South Africa Series in the Junior Class in September 2022. Despite missing the season opener, she secured an impressive 3rd place overall at the end of the season, earning her first opportunity to represent South Africa at the T4 Nations Cup 2023. Competing internationally for the first time, Anastasia placed 29th overall out of 42 participants, with a notable 11th place finish in qualifying heatsand 17th in Super Heat 2, starting the final from P32.

Inspired by this international debut, Anastasia committed to enhancing her skills and sought out more competitive karting environments. Upon returning to South Africa, she set two primary goals:

1. Win the Tillotson SA Club Championship (Senior Class).

2. Identify and compete in the best 2-stroke karting series for skill development.

In January 2024, Anastasia acquired her first two-stroke kart and underwent assessments with Ricky Perdigao Motorsport (RPM) and Gary Lennon (ROK CUP SA). Despite initial feedback suggesting she wasn’t ready for the Champions of the Future Academy (COTFA), Anastasia reframed her outlook. Determined to make 2024 a "learning year," she successfully applied and was accepted into the Champions of the Future Academy Programme.

Throughout 2024, Anastasia clinched the Tillotson SA Club Championship (Senior Class) title and continued to gain experience in high-level international karting through COTFA. Her participation marked a transformative step, fostering resilience and grit as she consistently improved race craft and lap times.

With aspirations of transitioning to single-seaters by 17, Anastasia is committed to another year in COTFA to solidify her skills and readiness for the F1 Academy, the next critical milestone in her racing career.
