Amanda Dlomo

As a member of the church, I also serve as a volunteer in the Kids church. I work with children from the age of 2 years. Serving in the house of God has been so fulfilling for me. One might see it as just babysitting, but it's far more that. My job as a volunteer is to teach the children about God, read the bible to them, praise and worship and other acts of catering to them like playing and changing them as some are still young.

I am part of the Personal and Professional Development Subcommittee in the Society. As a subcommittee, our main focus is empowering students and promoting growth in the professional space. We normally host events that are educational and help in self-improvement. We host events like debate marathons, workshops on financial literacy and many other.

MaxLaw is a company that assists with legal and financial knowledge and understanding of credit bureaus, credit providers and their aim is to to guide and assist over-indebted credit-active consumers. I worked in one one of their call centres as a sales agents, and my job was to was contacting consumers whose credit applications had been declined, after receiving their contact details from credit providers. I would then inquire about their financial reports from the credit bureaus. In instances where the person had accounts in arrears, I would then refer the matter to the company's debt counselors for further assistance.
