Running – My Tool for Focus and Endurance
Running is more than a fitness habit for me — it’s how I process, reflect, and recharge. As a student leader, mentor, and athlete, I’ve found that running helps me remain mentally grounded and physically energized, even during demanding academic periods. It has taught me discipline, routine, and how to keep showing up — lessons that I apply daily in my leadership roles, whether it’s mentoring, tutoring, or supporting others.
Running also connects me to the broader MatieMen and TygerMaties community through sport, where teamwork, encouragement, and resilience are at the heart of our shared experiences.
Cooking – A Practice of Care, Creativity & Community
I find joy in cooking simple, healthy meals — often plant-based — that reflect my belief in wellness and balance. Cooking allows me to slow down, reflect, and offer something tangible to the people around me. In res, I often share meals or recipes with fellow students as a way of fostering connection and reminding others that nourishment — both physical and emotional — matters.
As a future nurse and mentor, I believe deeply in caring for others holistically. Cooking is one way I express that care and creativity.
