Conservation efforts in our town Coffee Bay
I did a Chakra Yoga Teacher's Training course of 200 hours, by hOHM Yoga School in 2021. It inspired my life so much that I continue doing it for myself, and teaching kids in our rural community at Jonga Montessori, Coffee Bay where we used to live.
As a keen gardener with a fondness of healing oils and herbs, I like to propagate herbs and medicinal plants.
Being a mom of three children aged 9, 11 and 12, I find myself enjoying swimming in the sea, going for walks and trails in our natural beautiful environment, where we are keen for learning and appreciating our surrounding, from intertidal organisms to birds and everything in between.
I started a project by myself, raising funds and sponsors of R20 000 to erect barricades in order protect Coffee Bay from sand dune mining, as miners keep on collecting sand in the vicinity of forests and damage root systems of ancient trees. This causes them to die and/or fall over and thereby destroys the habitats of animals, disturbing the integrity of dunes, let alone sand basking of holiday makers on the beach coming up front with a mining truck.
