Daily Operation of Pumping Scheme that delivers irrigation water to around 85 farms in the area.

Liaising with CEO with regards to planning and execution of maintenance plan and new projects.

Responsible for drawing up and implementing maintenance schedule of all electro and mechanical apparatus to ensure smooth operation of scheme during pumping season, and to ensure uninterrupted water supply to clients.

Organizing and Managing of Contractors employed on the pump scheme and other sub-areas of the Water Users Association, as well as tasking and supervising the Technician and general workers team.

Administrative duties include keeping track of quotas and usage on the pumping scheme, administering and managing quotas for the Onder Nuy sub-scheme and managing the alien-clearing project for Worcester East WUA which involves liaising with the department of agriculture.

Attending meetings with CEO involving other governing bodies such as department of water affairs, BOCMA and other companies involved with water quality or usage issues.

Regular inspection and maintenance of abstraction points on the pumping scheme.

Fault-finding in pump stations and liaising with relevant contractors for maintenance and repair work on the scheme and various structures in sub-areas of the Association.

Admin duties included logging pump station inspections, stock control in the storeroom, and drawing up designs for fabrication repairs and projects on Sketchup - a 3d drawing program.

Standby duties after hours to manage the pumping scheme through SCADA software.

• Conserved warehouse space through efficient stacking and placement of materials according to size, weight, and fragility requirements.
• Enhanced workplace safety by diligently inspecting forklifts before each shift and reporting any issues promptly.
• Reduced loading times for shipping trucks by efficiently organizing and staging pallets.
• Maintained optimal inventory levels with precise forklift operation and proper storage techniques.

Gaining workshop skills such as cutting, grinding and welding with various power tools.

Learning how to manage a coal burning forge for the efficient heating and shaping of metal.

Assisting with the measuring and designing of projects to be fabricated, and assisting with installation thereof.

• Participated actively in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts and contributing to a more efficient production environment.
• Inspected final products to assess compliance with quality standards and established tolerances.
• Documented production information via daily system logs and discussed issues with management.

General construction work and Handyman

Stand-in Supervisor and Second-in-Command at passenger screening point, which entailed managing staff levels at X-ray machines and liaising with Waterloo International Terminal Manager and Metropolitan Police.

As the Eurostar Train service had international destinations, the security operation was similar to airport security, and the X-ray machines used state-of-the-art TIP (Threat Image Projection) systems, where x-ray images of weapons and bombs were randomly projected onto live baggage - and operators had to 'catch' these false images and achieve a pass-rate of at least 80% to remain on the screening team.

During my time there, only 4 people achieved a 100% pass-rate, and I was one of them.

• Conducted thorough investigations into security incidents, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate actions.
• Provided excellent customer service while addressing visitor inquiries or concerns related to facility safety or access control procedures.
• Checked identification of persons entering and exiting facility to eliminate unauthorized visitors.
• Screened individuals and prevented passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Checked and verified photo identification prior to granting facility access.
• Conducted regular patrols of key areas to spot and control security concerns.

• Categorize and sort customer correspondence according to relevant department and update customer accounts.
• Improved document organization with thorough file maintenance, archiving outdated records as necessary for efficient retrieval when needed.
