Since working in the hospitality industry, I have been forced to work under large amounts of pressure and have had to take initiative in finding ways to solve various problems. These problems could include having to deal with several guest complaints at once and being able to solve them swiftly while being kind and respectful. I am a motivated worker, an energetic self-starter, and a team builder. I'm able to navigate high-stress situations and achieve goals on time and under budget.

  • I welcomed and confirmed the guests bookings and gave them information on the amenities and policies of the hotel.
  • carrying out all check-in and check-out procedures
  • Taking care of online and phone reservations
  • Informing clients about available payment options and confirming credit card information
  • I worked in the food and beverage department for a while, working as a waiter.
  • I took orders and made suggestions based on guest tastes and preferences.
  • Cleared tables while proactively upselling to customers.
  • I helped bartenders prepare cocktails, soft drinks, and smoothies.
  • I worked along side the Housekeeping and Rooms division department and made sure the rooms were according to standard
  • I also worked in banqueting and conferences. I would plan and coordinate all aspects of conferences, meetings, and events from start to finish.
  • Work together with clients to decide on budgets, schedules, and objectives for events.
  • Ensure the guests meal and dietary requirements for every event.
  • Comply with legal requirements to avoid risks, minimise disruption to business, and promote the safety and health of colleagues and guests.

  • We were required to work in the food and beverage department as part of our module requirement for food and beverages, so we would be working at our restaurant at the private hotel school.
  • We hosted the TV show Sjef Huis at our campus in Stellenbosch, then called The Private Hotel School.
  • I and the rest of the team would prepare food for the crew members of the show
  • Plan new meals to ensure that they don't get meal fatigue
