  • NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS:
  • With the use of 3-D scanning and Photogrammetry, I have measured the turbine and generator couplings to make recommendations for the best coupling hole alignment to ensure the least amount of machining and honing on the coupling holes
  • During the Matla Power Station outage, I scanned the new and the old HP inner casings and the existing outer casing to identify any interference when the new inner casing is fitted into the existing outer casing
  • I have scanned numerous turbine blades using the GOM 3D Scanner and produced 3D CAD Models of those blades
  • The CAD models were used to manufacture new blades and in some cases were used to develop ultrasonic probes for NDT purposes

  • Akash Rambharos is responsible for the design and review of mechanical equipment for the Water Treatment Plant and Waste Water Treatment Plant for Kusile Power Station
  • The equipment includes pressure vessels, pumps, tanks, filters, mixers
  • He is responsible for insuring that mechanical equipment integrates correctly with piping, civil and instrumentation
  • He is also responsible for preparing datasheets for the mechanical equipment and conducting technical bid evaluations on quotation received
  • He also liaises with the client and PDNA’s contractors
  • He insures that all documents for inspections of equipment ordered are of the required quality to ensure inspections are successfully completed
  • NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS:
  • I am responsible for design, fabrication, on time delivery to site and installation of various vessels and tanks and other mechanical equipment
  • 90% of this task is complete; the remaining 10% is in the final stages of completion and delivery to site
  • I have designed for an Overflow Pipe Support/Guide that integrates with bolted tank
  • The original design of the tank was not configured to be able to attach the guide to the tank.
