Assisting in anaesthetizing patients in major and minor theater under the supervision of the doctor

Patient monitoring in the recovery room until they are fully awake and hand them over to the ward staff

Assisting the doctor during operative procedures

Preparation of instruments, and other theatre accessories for surgical procedures

Cleaning, packing and sterilizing theatre instruments

Ordering and replenishing theatre equipment

· Outpatients Department

Drug ordering

Administering drugs and doing dressings, and preparing laboratory samples as per doctor’s order.

· Resuscitation room

Attending to all emergencies, that is a critically ill patient, severe accidents

Severe asthmatic patients, poisoned patients, collapsed patients who need high care or resuscitation

Daily care of all resuscitative equipment including ECG monitors, defibrillators, pulse oxymeters, oxygen administration sets and ventilators

Daily checking of all resuscitative drugs, ordering and replenishing stocks

· Consultation rooms

Doing vital observations that is temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration checks on all patients on arrival

Assisting doctors where necessary especially on Pediatric and old aged patients

Doing blood sugar, urinalysis and observing general conditions of patients.

Screening and referral of patients with infectious diseases to the infectious diseases hospital

Registration of patients admitted and discharged for records and statistics

· Treatment and suture rooms

Insertion of cannulas, putting up intravenous infusions, giving stat doses

Suturing wounds, lacerations, dressing wounds

Organizing admissions to respective wards according to the condition of the patients, age, sex and anticipated duration of stay in the hospital

Assisting doctors with procedures e.g. orthopaedic, general surgical etcetera

Covering sports events.

Attending to accident scenes and house calls and stabilizing patients.

Cares of patients in transit during inter- hospital transfers.

Administering cardio pulmonary resuscitation where needed.

Monitoring patients using ECG monitors while in transit to hospital.
