DSMC Netplan Section

The existence of this section is to ensure data integrity in Telkom Group/Openserve, and we all know the importance of having correct data in relation to responding to faults, new projects, and network upgrades. So, my tasks involve enforcing compliance when working in Netplan whether outside plan or inside plan and advocate the importance of updating Netplan all the time when you have made altercation maybe during site visit.

Other important tasks:

Create NAM requests for planners to have designs to work in Netplan. Create building requests for Metro Ethernet, Telkom Mobile and Fibre to the Home projects.

Change design's status.

Check projects before service providers are paid.

Close projects in SAP v Netplan Report.

Fibre Records Section

New Cable Requests:

Receive request from SP / Planners via email or tasked on BPM Fibre records complete the new cables document, indicating the cable and jointing schedule between exchange and the ME customer Create new cables on TED Update Fibre Layouts and attach to Database Provide a jointing schedule for construction and build Compile New Cable request forms and TXOPS sheets Attach New Cable document and TXOPS sheet to BPM / send back to SP/planner.

Fibre Allocations:

Receive request from SP / Planners via email or tasked on BPM Fibre records to complete the fibre allocation document, indicating the route from the ME node to the customer Capture the allocation on TED and validate system. Allocate fibres for POTN, various other technology Allocations Compile and Attach allocation on BPM Release task on BPM or email the planner.

Fibre Reservations:

Receive a request via Email/BPM SP to request fibres at a specific FDP / Manhole or joint Locate fibre layout on TED investigate the jointing schedule Confirm fibres are spare on TXOPS & TED Reserve the fibres on TED if spare on each cable from exchange to FDP Once spares are identified pre testing is requested by email to CTS or CNFO Good fibres sent back to planner for attaching to their project on BPM.

Fibre pre-testing with CNFO / CTS:

Fibres need to be tested and results checked if they meet the minimum db losses for a service and reaching the required distance Send request of the reserved fibres to CNFO for pre testing Faulty fibres sent to CNM for repairs via email Monitored timeously and reminders sent to the Ops Managers Testing of fibres for special TE systems or technologies such as FTTH / Google / POTN (fibre testing, repairs and tracking) Provide support and assistance to CNFO technician while testing on site.
