I was born in the Western Cape in a town called Worcester, where I spend my early childhood and the start of my primary school years. Due to my father’s work obligations we relocated to different towns and cities around South Africa. We stayed in Johannesburg, George, Gqeberha and recently relocated to Paarl in the Western Cape. As a result of this, I was fortunate to experience diverse cultures, meet new people and make new friends. When I was taken out of my comfort zone, I learnt the importance to adapt to different situations, to be open to new opportunities and to embrace change. Throughout my childhood I played many sports, which included swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, dancing, netball, and athletics. In grade 11 and 12, I competed in the long jump event, at the Eastern Province Athletic Championships. I was honoured as my schools long jump champion of the year in grade 11 and 12, and was selected as the athletics captain in my matric year. I matriculated at Collegiate Girls High School in 2020 and I am now studying at Stellenbosch University. I am studying Education Intermediate Stage and I am part of the Maties Athletic Club. The opportunities I got to work was truly a blessing, as I learnt so many lessons and got to experience different fields of work. When I am given a task, I always make sure I do it correctly and the best of my ability. My parents taught me to never give up on something once you started it. I always approach my work with vibrant energy, enthusiasm and focus. I am honest, trustworthy, dedicated and have a determination to be successful.
I worked at each home game of the Southern Kings in Gqeberha in 2018 and 2019. I made sure all the photographers that took pictures during the game were signed in before the game and signed out after the game. I made sure each photographer got a yellow vest that had to be worn during a game, I collected those vests after the game. It was a small job but I made the most of it and did my duties the way I was told too. I was always kind and respectful to all those whom I worked with.
I am one of the servers at the beautiful Bakenhof Wedding Venue located outside of Wellington. On the day of a wedding we are assigned individual duties throughout the day and a table which we will be serving throughout the reception. After the ceremony we help serving drinks and food to the guests. I am always respectful and welcoming to all guests. We have a responsibility to do the our jobs correctly and the way we are told. I work with a great group of people that support and help each other when needed.
ButterNutt is a well known company that makes different types of milks, butters and also sells figs and nuts. When I worked at ButterNutt I was part of the milk production group. We filled the milk bottles, labeled, dated and packed milks in boxes. It was a very hard working job with long working hours. It was a great experience and was interesting to learn about the production industry and how things work behind the scenes of a production company.
